This week challenge is a super easy switch for us: homemade all-purpose cleaner with citrus peel and vinegar.
We read about vinegar cleaner all the time, and also going through so many oranges, limes, mandarines at home, so it's time to start saving the peels and making the solution, it should be ready by the time we're using up our store bought cleaners from previous purchases :)
There are so many DIY recipes on the internet, just pick the one that work for you. We don't have a large amount of citrus peels at once so we start with a marson jar of half full vinegar instead, and just add the citrus peels into it as we go through the fruits. When it's full, allow it to sit in a dark place for two more weeks. The longer you let it sit, the more the citrus will infuse into the vinegar. Then we will strain it and pour the cleaner into a spray bottle and use it as we would with any other all purpose cleaner.
This is the most basic one. This solution alone can use for many cleaning purposes, and can be used as a base to add with water, Castile liquid soap and borax for more cleaning needs. Or, if you have pets, look into enzyme cleaner from citrus peels. Again, there are tons of instructions online :)
Let's make the switch!
